I'm not compelled to leave reviews often but I was blown away by my experience at this place. I walked in off the street for a coffee and decided to get a pizza too after seeing how reasonably priced they were.
The gentleman working the ordering counter was very kind and took the time to have a little chat with me when he found out I was traveling and dining alone. The wait staff were also very friendly, my coffee was delicious, and I got my pizza moments after sitting down. I knew I had made the right decision when she set it down in front of me and I could see little bits of fresh oregano leaves that had been delicately crumbled on top of my perfectly cooked pie. Really quality ingredients and in generous portions. Needless to say it was delicious, and I almost completely failed at my plan of having just a slice or two and saving the rest for later.
I left with a couple of pieces in a box and a big smile on my face, and continued on my merry way to Arizona. Eight hours of driving later, I realized I had left my wallet in the restroom at Amicas. Even though it was 6 pm when I called in a panic and the restaurant was clearly extremely busy, the staff took the time to listen to my concern and help me find my wallet. Not only this, but a staff member named Jon then took time out of his morning to go to the post office and overnight my wallet to Arizona the next day, as I did not intend to drive back through Colorado.
Basic side salad was awesome! Margarita pizza was great. Nice crisp crust. Blackcherry soda was great with a subtle taste but perfect. Sangria was wonderful! Got 2 but 1 was actually enough!
Awesome food and great drink selections. The staff is very friendly and service is excellent. The fettuccini Alfredo with chicken is delicious and comes with a salad. Pairing with the Moscato if you like sweet wine is the best decision! Very reasonably priced and cozy little place.
In these days of social media it's is very easy to talk about being community-oriented, but Amicas really showed me that they mean what they say and truly care about every one of their customers, even the ones just passing through like me. Next time I'm in Colorado I'm definitely stopping in Salida for a pizza at Amicas, and if you live in the area you've got not excuse! ;)
Oh. My. Goodness. SO delicious! We thought that, like a typical pizzeria, it would take a while for them to serve our food, but it was pretty quick!The pizza and salads are crazy good and the staff and atmosphere are great! Plus, you can get gluten free crust! This is definitely one of the best restaurants around.
Best restaurant in town. Great food, great staff. Be prepared to spend time and money, newer menu offers a lot of variety. Spinach salad is amazing, pizza is always good. Apps are delicious. Sandwiches are scrumptious.
