Getting a cut was a disaster at CJ & Co. - they do not know what they are doing! It is true most people cutting hair do not understand how to cut curly hair, but CJ & Co. was ESPECIALLY BAD! The gal cutting my hair cut very small wisps of hair at the top and back of my head - pieces of hair that were once 12 - 16 inches long are now 2 inches long, even though my hair is long and wavy and I expressed I want to keep that style. This ridiculous cut has resulted in a layer of frizz at the top of my head which I will have now every day for the next 2 or 3 years that it will take to grow those short pieces of hair out. Every day used to be a great hair day until I got my hair cut by Gusti, and now every day is a bad hair day. The only thing I can do is literally wait a few years for it to grow back. What was she thinking in cutting my hair this way?!?! I had also asked for very simple yet specific shaping of my hair, none of which was she able to accomplish. After I got home, I was able to shape my hair myself no problem, and I would have been much better off cutting it myself and never going in there. The waste of my money at CJ & Co. is the least of the problems with my experience there. Not only did I get an incredibly awful hair cut I have to live with for a very long time, but the owners and operators of this business have an attitude that is extremely unfriendly and unappreciative of your patronage.
I love this place and I have been going to Gusti for years. I always leave with a cute cut or color and looking my best. I have come to Gusti with some ideas either she was not comfortable with or in her professional opinion would not work with my hair or face shape. She is not afraid to tell you her honest opinion and I truly value that. I can not recommend this lady enough.
They have been in business for a very long time, and it has been a long time since they received their training. Styles have changed since then. If you want a hair style from the 80s or 90s, then CJ & Co. is a great place to go. Don't be fooled by their new location and decor. They are way out-dated when it comes to skills and styles with your hair.
I will definitely come back and I highly recommend this place.
Now onto Manicures and Pedicures. Morgan Holm is amazing. My hands and feet have never felt or looked better. Some mani/pedi’s I have had other places left my extremities sore and feeling tender. This never happens with Morgan.
I absolutely love how Gusti does my hair. The price for a hair cut and color is very reasonable and she even went out of her way to find the right hair dye for sensitive scalps like mine. The whole team is very friendly and customer focused. Can't wait to see their new digs in August.
