I know I have gout why the hell is it every time I come in with gout in my hand they want a GD X-ray its not broken I have had gout for 16+ years my hand is not broken !!!!!! Can't you FN listen your job is to help people not cost the money they don't have for an X-ray they don't want.
I came in with a broken collarbone. My neighbor called ahead so they knew I was coming, the response was negative. I was one of two patients so the place was very quite. I was xrayed and we asked about one for my 2 swollen fingers. The response again was negative. Finally were leaving for the 30 minute drive home and we ask for a cold ICE pack. The response was no just refreeze the one you have.
You don't realize how terrible this hospital is until you are very ill. A head injury is a serious illness. MY FAMILY MEMBER COULD DIE WITHOUT CARE. Sure, there are some good people here, but if my family member dies, who cares?
I finally had to call Alamosa and ask them about treatment. They had to instruct me to be firm about demanding treatment in Salida and not to drive the patient two hours away to Alamosa.
Wow I never thought I would be writing a review for an ER. My experience this past week left me very concerned about being more seriously injured and needing treatment here.
I have spent my career in emergency services and have seen more from very busy ER's. I hope someone is taking notice daily cause a big problem is coming to this place.
I have never given a hospital or ER a negative review. The staff at this hospital is completely incompetent and dangerous. It has taken us over a week to get a CT scan and an MRI for my family member's head injury. The people here have repeatedly gotten prescriptions, allergy information, and medical directives wrong. They have repeatedly asked the person with a head injury to make decisions. They have tried to dissuade the injured person from receiving treatment based on "financial considerations". A couple of ER doctors have denied that something is wrong. My family members walked out of the ER and sat in the parking lot, confused about what they needed to do next.
