I've been here 4 times or so over the past 5 years. The main reason that we go is because everything is consistent. Consistently great beer selection and view. Consistently mediocre service and food. The service has always been quite slow. The host/hostess were very friendly, but it took nearly 10 minutes for any of the 3 servers in the section to greet us. Water glasses sat empty for 5-10 minutes without being refilled (which is critical for thirsty mountain bikers!) House margarita tasted very watery. The taco salad was fresh, but very light on the chicken. The side salad was good and fresh, but somehow my burgers have always come out WAY over cooked. Medium rare shouldn't be brown throughout. Our food was delivered, and we didn't have silverware. Wouldn't it make more sense to put the silverware on the table BEFORE the food is delivered? A "two bite/two minute check" to ensure everything came out as planned didn't happen. We were over half way done with our meals by the time our server asked if everything was "OK." Is "OK" good enough? Based on the Boat House's previous responses, they strive for excellent food that's cooked to perfection. Why wouldn't they train their servers to ask if everything is "excellent" or "perfectly cooked." Just a subtle nuance, but could help, nonetheless. They miss the mark on glaringly obvious small details.
Needless to say, this was my final visit. I figure after four tries and reading through numerous reviews which have outlined their service deficiencies, there has been no improvement. I know that my money is just a drop in the bucket, and they won't miss me at all. I'll support other local business that puts more value on excellent service and food that is truly cooked to perfection.
Food was just okay. They make these chips in house that are really excellent. Beer selection and quality were good. Service was a little spotty... its a busy, fairly raucous place. It's a nicer experience if you get to sit by the water but not everyone does.
The food was amazing, the view was beautiful. The indoor seating looked lovely, but in the beautiful weather why stay inside? The waitstaff is very friendly and timely. There is ample parking right across the river (and it's free).
Great food, drinks and atmosphere. Has a louder side with a bar and TV's as well as a quiet side for calmer meals. Really good chili too.
First the waitress was very nice but that is where it ends. Found a long black hair mixed in my food and i am not dark haired. Manager come over and took it away so i ordered something different but had to check if it didn't have any of my food allergy so when she went back to the kitchen i seen her say something nasty about my request. After the meal we left a note on the receipt and ask the waitress to give it to the boss so she did, he read it and didn't get up to talk to us just threw it on the bar. So check your food before you eat it
