The staff took great care of us. Karen at the front desk called us by name for the entirety of our stay. Easy access to downtown Salida. 25 minute drive to Mt. Princeton Hot Springs which is a must do while here.
Weekend of July 8/9: When we checked in the room was clean, but they hadn't finished putting the bedspread on; no big deal we thought. The next day, our room was never cleaned (though we requested) and towels were not replaced. About 6 pm we finally got the guy up front to give us some fresh towels. We offered to fold them to save him time.
The pool was closed for some reason. The WiFi did not connect to the Internet. Finding someone to complain to for most of the day was impossible. Promises were not kept. Horrible experience.
The beds were hard, there were parts of the room that weren't cleaned up. Breakfast wasn't great and the hot tub was cool. All this being said, the night manager tried to be very helpful with any issues. Would be worth it if the room only cost $45-60/night instead.
Salida, is a really fantastic town, so the location is a standout destination (around the Baymont there is nothing worth walking to compared to downtown). This hotel was decent, albet a little dated. The breakfast and service were adequate, don't expect much. If you own a pet, the fee was only $10! a welcome surprise. In the end, I doubt I'll ever rebook at this hotel.
Clean room. Comfortable bed. Friendly staff. Need to back off on the carpet spray in the hallway. It was overwhelming. They should also tell guest with dog's that they are expected to clean up after their dogs when they poop. Maybe put a dog poop bag holder next to the area where they are walked. I keep a poop bag on my dogs leash. It's easy. But, maybe people need a strong reminder.
